As a senior in Appalachian State University's Appropriate Technology program, this narrator has learned that it takes Appropriate Technology to create sustainability. The time has come for the United States and other First World Nations to move from the finite fossil fuel-based culture to an abundant renewable way of life. This movement is taking place in many European Nations right now, and the cost of this technology has been steadily declining over the last decade. Energy independence for everyone is possible between energy storage systems, solar panels, and wind turbines. This goal is obtainable. The overarching goal is the balance between the modern lifestyle and the world's natural environment, so let's look at some facts, fun, and impressive technology that can improve our quality of life.
